I don't even remember Seto or his board. Must not have taken any interest in it.

It's kind of interesting how ezboard culture was like a microcosm of today's greater internet culture.

Man, what's become of us, FO? We're like two old war buddies trading war stories in the dark over here. I had a pretty fucked up teenage youth hanging around these places. I'm glad I was around for it all though. I certainly wouldn't have traded it for Blog/Myspace generation.

I do know that the "hacker" thing came from that time you edited GH64's post without mod and made a joke about how you removed it due to some (non-existant) Team-VZQ law.

And the reason they thought FO was a hacker was because of that time that I gave FO admin (actually, I think I just changed her custom user title to "Administrator" because I had been talking about that with BJ and mentioned you could probably fool people with that...boy did I call that one). Even though I admitted to the prank and said it clearly on the boards, people just kept attacking FO for hacking the board anyway.

I'm not sure if that's stupider or assuming that you'd have any relation to the Myths is stupider. It's not like any of us were feuding with Deathspork. It reminds me of that RAU sketch where the Griffin couldn't tell that Nucleo and Image aren't enemies and tried to intervene.

I think that type of thing is what ultimately led Deathspork to break away from that board. When they banded together that "Fearsome Five" thing, I remember him saying that he wouldn't have minded it if they had kept it to just Bugforest's board, but then they took it to his board and to the Game Pond, too. That topic that Raven started about it at Team-VZQ Headquarters was hilarious, but unfortunately, webarchive doesn't have it saved.

Wow, so he got on Team-VZQ's case, too? And then he claimed he could hack, but couldn't figure out how to change the icons on his ezboard?

I think the only reason Seto's board was popular with the Game Pond for awhile is because Dragon Ball Z and Final Fantasy 7 were popular with the Game Pond at first. And people sometimes automatically assume that if someone has a board with a lot of people then it must be because he's a great person who is well-liked. Unfortunately, there's no real correlation in reality. Assholes often get as much worship as good people, and a lot of times it's people that are just as much assholes as they are that are attracted to them.

I don't know what part of the conversation that comment was directed at, but I don' t believe I came across as being particularly angry or hostile in any of my posts. Most of that stuff we're discussing was too funny to even be worth getting upset over. People who claim they're going to destroy someone and instead end up destroying their own board and none of us even had to do anything but sit back and watch = funny. This was also the first time I ever came out onto a public forum and talked about it. There were many reasons back then that I declined to discuss any of those situations, and there was a point where ezboard itself came out and said they were cracking down on people for hacking boards and accounts (because there was so much of it back then due to their numerous security loopholes), so I certainly wasn't going to admit to figuring out that guy's password at that time. I think it's been enough years though that it's safe now.

Besides, this board is dead; hardly anyone comes here, so I don't see the harm in us using it to talk about whatever. That's sort of why this board was created in the first place.

The reply I made that revived this topic is hardly useless. If enough people would put it to heart, then the internet would be a better and smarter place.

Someone told me that if we don't want people complaining about discussions here, I should take it off the Port Saiid Pipeline.

#1. I don't particularly want people complaining about discussions at ANY board I go to.

#2. This topic itself never showed up on that because it only works for entirely new threads.

#3. This board was created for, by admission of the admin/owner, filtering less desirable conversations away from the larger more active boards. This is an "Enter at Your Own Risk" site.
