Damn, I hated how everyone always put those "Umms" in front of their posts back then. I'm probably guilty of it, too, but it makes us sound like retards.

Well, yeah, we've remarked many times about how far this community has come along in terms of maturity since its early days. I make a conscious effort not
to sound like a snotty brat in my posts now.
However, look at what we were arguing against... The millionth time we had to explain that the shadow in Zelda 2 isn't Ganon? The Wind Fish is inherently stupid and Ganon isn't? A Zelda story has to have Ganon in it to be good? If you want, just imagine the "Umm" as a raised eyebrow instead. |

Yeah, that's great. Ganon is really just a final boss. It's not like he has an elaborate background story and deep personality that's intricately
interwoven with the plot. If the final boss had been named something else and had been a different creature than a giant pig, it wouldn't have made much
difference. I'd be willing to bet that if the Shadow Nightmare (I guess his name is something like DeathI) had been the final boss of the original Zelda,
and Ganon was the new boss in Link's Awakening, people would argue that Link's Awakening sucked because DeathI wasn't in it and they didn't
like stupid Ganon.
Also, the logic that Zelda 2 is still a great story because Ganon is in it, even though he's not the final boss, could just as easily be applied to Link's Awakening, as he is in LA as one of DeathI's forms.
